Dr Tax Software, makers of UFile tax software, announces eco-initiative to commemorate Earth Day 2008.

April 16, 2008 - Montreal, Quebec - With the April 30th income tax deadline quickly approaching and to commemorate Earth Day on April 22, 2008, Dr Tax Software Inc., makers of UFile consumer tax software, recommend filing tax returns online.
Each electronically filed tax return saves at least 12 pieces of paper. In fact, most tax returns far exceed 12 pages; meaning that for every one million paper tax returns at least 12 million pages are printed using paper, ink and energy. In 2006, more than 2,800,2231 personal tax returns were filed on paper resulting in the loss of 4,0322 trees. This figure does not include the ink, plastic cartridges, packing material or energy required to transport returns to tax processing centres.
“When millions of Canadians choose to NETFILE tax returns, they really make a difference” says Malcolm Campbell, VP and General Manager of Dr Tax Software. “Dr Tax hopes to raise awareness of the environmental benefits of NetFiling, in addition to being a convenient choice.”
Dr Tax Software will donate $1.00 to the David Suzuki Foundation for each return sent to the Canada Revenue Agency via NETFILE that is prepared using UFile.ca (or ImpôtExpert.ca) on Earth Day, April 22, 2008.
UFile.ca supports the David Suzuki Foundation on Earth Day for its approach to conservation, which includes: oceans and sustainable fishing, climate change and clean energy, sustainability and the Nature Challenge. The Foundation uses science and education to promote solutions to conserve nature and achieve sustainability within a generation.
