Latest acquisitions mean significant growth for professional tax products division

MONTREAL, March 23, 2004 / CNW Dr Tax Software is pleased to announce that it has recently signed customer acquisition agreements with regional competitors PC-Impôts and LogicTax, clearly establishing itself as the dominant supplier of professional tax software in the Province of Quebec. The takeovers also serve to enhance the company's overall position in the Canadian professional tax software marketplace.

Dr Tax Software and the owners of Mississauga-based PC-Impôts reached an agreement in February providing for the outright sale of the PC-Impôts customer base to Dr Tax. PC-Impôts was a pioneer of Quebec tax software, having begun operations in 1985. "We are extremely pleased to be able to have our loyal customers move to Dr Tax. We believe that their needs will be best served by a company that has built its reputation on product performance and reliability as well as exemplary customer support and service," says Marcel Saucier, president and co-founder of PC-Impôts.

In a similar arrangement concluded in late February, Dr Tax also agreed to the purchase of Montreal-based LogicTax's customer base. LogicTax has been supplying personal and corporate tax software to Quebec accountants and tax practitioners for almost twenty years. Jack Lui, president of LogicTax, confirmed, "With many technological challenges facing our company now and in the near future, we concluded that our customers would be better served by moving to the DT Max application. Our research indicated that Dr Tax was the company best positioned to meet the needs of our users."
